About

Hailing from Portland, OR, Trigger, a Filipina trans woman, has written folk punk songs about the queer and trans struggle, the social issues around sex work, radical faerie culture, antifascism, and her struggles with interpersonal relationships and other personal struggles with depression traumatic life events. She also plays renditions of old time folk songs as well. She primarily plays the banjo solo since 2016 and is inspired by queer rebellions of the 1960s, traveling, and her own trauma.

She is inspired musically by many artists of varying genres including GLOSS, Bikini Kill, Days n Daze, Pat The Bunny’s various bands, Chad Fontaine, Cranford Nix, Nirvana, 2pac, NWA, and even Cardi B just to name a few.

It’s also worth noting that Trigger Fae is also a pole dancer and she intends to incorporate folk punk culture into pole dance as she progresses.
